Folklore explains in a very nice way the custom of the Easter candle. Each boy romantically interested in a girl used to give her as a gift her Easter candle which had to be as impressive as possible! The goal was to gain everyone’s admiration! The necessary features were; vivid color, ornaments and originality. The more, the better! The Easter candle symbolizes joy and differs totally from the simple, without any ornaments, yellow or white candle which according to folklore is not appropriate for resurrection’s celebration.
